Face Frame vs Frameless
Face frame cabinets have a wooden frame on the front. Frameless cabinets use the cabinet box itself as the mounting surface. Each requires different hinge styles and mounting plates.
Door Material & Weight
Light doors (MDF, particleboard) work with standard hinges. Solid wood doors and heavy panels require heavy-duty hinges with higher weight ratings. Glass doors need specialized clamps or hinges with glass-specific mounting.
Hinge Finish
Nickel, chrome, brass, and black finishes are available. For wet areas (bathrooms, outdoor kitchens), choose stainless steel to prevent corrosion.
